Course Information

HAZWOPER requirements for cleanup operations (29 CFR 1910.120(e))apply to all employees who work at the site of an ordered cleanup or who are contracted to cleanup a release after a HAZWOPER emergency response has occurred concerning an OSHA hazardous substance. An OSHA hazardous substance to include DOT hazardous materials, CERCLA hazardous substances, RCRA hazardous wastes, disease-causing agents, and includes petroleum products with a flashpoint of 200° F or less.

Not only must all employees at the site be trained to the 24- or 40-hour level, but supervisors must receive an additional 8 hours of off-site training and an additional day of on-site supervised work before being certified competent by the employer. This course meets the off-site training requirements of the rule.

Certification Information: HAZWOPER certification is always the responsibility of the employer. We issue a course certificate indicating that the employee demonstrated competence on the classroom portions of the training. The employer must then ensure that the employee works for one additional day with supervision before being allowed to work unsupervised.
