Enrollment and Cancellation

Registration Fees:

Standard Fee is the course fee for persons from for-profit organizations such as corporations or professional partnerships.
Government/Nonprofit Fee is the course fee for persons from government agencies (federal, state, local, or school districts) or from registered not-for-profit organizations.

A trainee is eligible for the Prepaid Fee if:

  1. the registration was received 8 calendar days before the course start date and
  2. the course fee is paid before or by the start date of the course.

Group Discounts: Special discounts are available for groups of 6 or more participants in the same course. Contact the Registrar for more information.

Cancellations, Penalties, and Refunds: Customers may cancel course registrations without penalty up to seven calendar days prior to the scheduled course date. A 20% cancellation fee may be charged for cancellations within the week before the course start date. A cancellation fee will be charged to customers who fail to show up for the class and who do not transfer to a later offering.

If you cannot come to a class for which you have already paid, repayment is usually in the form of a credit certificate for later classes. You may request that it be paid by check or credit card refund instead.

If the Institute chooses to cancel a course, all registrants will be notified at least seven calendar days prior to the scheduled start date and receive a 20% credit certificate toward future training.

Certification and Examinations

Examinations: Participants failing to pass a required course exam will be notified at the first opportunity. They must re-take the exam at no charge within 2 weeks of the original exam date and may also re-take necessary portions of the original or related refresher course without charge on a space-available basis prior to taking the examination over.

The course examination scores can normally obtained be by the trainee by phoning or e-mailing our office on the next business day after the examination date.

Certificates: Certificates will be mailed to all trainees satisfactorily completing the course (including passing any applicable examination) after payment of the course fees. Unless prior arrangements have been agreed upon, certificates are normally sent by U.S. Postal Service first class mail to the successful trainee three business days after course completion.

Duplicate Certificates: Duplicate copies of certificates may be purchased at $10.00 each, prepaid.


Course Venue: All open registration courses are held at the Institute's training facility at 5610 Crawfordsville Road, Suite 15, Indianapolis, Indiana 46224-3787. Students may travel to nearby facilities for field trips during some trainings. Customized training can be held at our facility or at other sites as agreed on.

To date we have held courses in:
Florida, Guam, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts,
Michigan, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, Panama and Virginia!
Where can we go for you?

Persons with handicaps. Our facility is accessible to people with impaired mobility. We do not have any regular provisions for persons with hearing or visual disabilities.

Tobacco. Smoking and the use of smokeless tobacco are not permitted inside the building; an ash tray and trash can is available outside the entry door.


The Environmental Management Institute will admit into its training programs students of any race, color, national, or ethnic origin and will provide them with the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to all students at the Institute. The Environmental Management Institute will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national, or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational or admissions policies.


The Institute takes your privacy seriously and is committed to the privacy and confidentiality of personal information.

Information Collection.The Institute collects no information other that which you or your contact person knowingly provided. We collect only that information necessary to conduct business with you or that required by governmental certifying agencies. We maintain the necessary records of your identity and of the training you received, including examination scores and certification records.

Our Use of Your Contact Information. To keep you aware of our offerings and other important information, we may send you U.S. Postal Service mail, e-mail, or faxes providing such information.

Electronic Privacy. While our registration routine does place a temporary electronic cookie on your hard drive, it is not accessible after you terminate the registration process. We do not electronically interrogate your system for stored information. While this policy does not always provide you with maximum convenience, it does provide maximum security.

We are currently exploring the use of Google Analytics to monitor our web traffic. Google places a cookie on your machine to better track your use of our site. If this is a problem, please contact us at [email protected].

Information Sharing and Disclosure. Personal information we collect is never sold or transferred to other entities with the following exceptions:

  • When you personally request that we provide it to a third party.
  • When required by law for certification or other legitimate purposes.
  • When we provide addresses to trusted mailing contractors or government agencies to facilitate informational mailings described above (unless you have opted out of such mailings).

Security Measures. Security precautions are in place to ensure that personal information is not accessible at any time via the Internet or electronic interrogation. This includes forms you complete on our web site. Our facility is kept locked when not occupied, and all of our computers are password protected. Training records are kept in locked cabinets. If you send us information by regular e-mail, we can only be responsible for its security once it arrives in our system.

Opting out. If you wish not to receive information from us, please contact us and tell us to suppress all mailings.

Any changes to policies on this web page will be posted as soon as they become effective.
